I was let down twice by the appointments system, resulting in a three month follow up appointment finally being eight months, and that was after several phone calls. Luckily my situation was not a serious one. One of the most annoying problems at the hospital is the parking situation, making it necessary to get there in time to allow a long time to park.
On the plus side, all the staff I have come into contact with have been very polite and helpful, and the medical staff have all been excellent.
i have been treated at broomfield for two and a half years and continue to have treatment there, after such a negative diagnosis of cancer i have had such a positive experience at broomfield.i never feel like a patient i always feel like person because of how all of the staff treat me. i am under different departments, chemo unit breast unit,i always feel that the departments come together as one.all of the staff involve my family, which is so very important when your all living with cancer.i trust my oncologist completely and have a great relationship with him as do my family.
Broomfield Hospital is a 10/10 for cleanliness and care from the Doctors and Nurses.
The only fault is the inadequate and costly car parking especially during visiting hours.
No problems, all the staff from cleaners to surgeons are very caring and professional.
I've stayed at Broomfield hospital on a couple of occasions, first Maternity then surgical ward.
Staff have always been lovely, I've never had any issues about cleanliness or hygiene, I didn't even have any complaints about the food.
I've been to lots of different departments for scans and tests, I can honestly say it's the same story throughout.
Parking is the only thing that irritates me about that hospital, it's not uncommon to drive round the car park 3 times before finding a space.
The ward staff were extremely caring and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble and I was treated as an important guest. Without exception, the staff were friendly and approachable. The ward was kept spotless and myself and my relatives were kept up to date with all developments in how the day was progressing. A scary procedure was made very much better by their professional and calm way of managing their ward.
I can only speak for Heybridge Ward and the Chemotherapy department.
Only great things for me. Really cared for and understood.
On this occasion I received good treatment and care compared to a previous occasion at the hospital.
Since having children I have not had hospital experience. However, since being diagnosed I have been admirably looked after by staff at Broomfield. From Radiology, Anaesthetic Dept., Surgical Dept., Ward Staff, Physiotherapy, domestic and care assistants everyone totally professional, caring and compassionate at all times. Appointments, follow up phone calls and treatments were organised speedily and efficiently. I was on a conveyor belt, terrified at the prospect of Surgery but Broomfield not only guided me all the way, they did so calmly, professionally and magnificently.
Anyone faced with a hospital stay, or is being treated at Broomfield, I truly believe we are blessed to have such an amazing NHS hospital on our doorstep.
